Cozumel Coral Reef Snorkeling by Glass Bottom Boat with Guide

1.Cozumel Coral Reef Snorkeling by Glass Bottom Boat with Guide

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 543 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $35Our pick

From El Cid La Ceiba, take a glass-bottom boat to Villa Blanca Wall and the shallow and deep sections of Paraiso Reef. You get about two hours on the water, snorkeling gear, drinks and a bilingual guide. Crew members such as Carlos, Miguel and Santiago have helped beginners and families; allow for a separate $11 cash marine and pier fee.

“Had a great time on three coast reef areas. It wasn't especially deep water, it was on-shore. However, my wife and my friends certainly loved that it was a simple and rewarding experience. We had an opportunity to buy photos taken while snorkeling, and we thought they turned out great - so we bought the group photos package (actually each of our families did). Some things to know: eat a big breakfast that morning, because you should plan to not have lunch. Make sure you apply sunscreen ahead of the experience, you won't be applying it on the boat. Plan to take a taxi from the port to the hotel…”

Tikinxic Barefoot Fish Guided Cookout Experience in Cozumel

2.Tikinxic Barefoot Fish Guided Cookout Experience in Cozumel

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 273 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $106

At Barracuda Beach Club, spend about three hours preparing Yucatan-style Tikinxic fish, wrapped in plantain leaves and grilled with local seasoning. Guides such as Adrian and Bernie share stories about Cozumel and its food traditions. Lunch, margaritas, flavored water, and a small-group setting are included; taxi fare is not.

“Adrian, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the history of the traditions, the island, and the food itself. Getting to prepare the food ourselves made it very memorable and now I have a little knowledge of Mexican cooking. The fish, the ceviche, everything was delicious. And the surprise dessert along with its back story was a wonderful treat at the end! Wish we had more time to spend on the beach and in the hammocks, but felt like we were holding up the staff by sticking around. All in all, this a great tour if you love learning about culture and history, and if you love trying new foods!”
